Ok, in my family, I am the only one who drinks espresso. My wife does not. This espresso maker is perfect for myself. It allows me two full 14oz mugs of coffee with out used to beting an entire pot on simply myself.

Most 10-12 cup coffee makers do not do a excellent job of creating smaller amounts of coffee for these of us that will have a single coffee drinker family. The coffee is either lukewarm or now not sturdy sufficient when seeking to make a smaller batch. My spouse does not like coffee so I am stuck either getting an opulent single K-cup model coffee maker, pod maker or a 4-cup drip brewer. However, due to the Hamilton Beach 48274 Brew Station 6-Cup Coffeemaker, I can finish my seek for one of the very best answer.

The Brew Station makes an important, piping scorching cup of espresso. It is alleged to be a 6-cup brewer and that may be the case for a regular 5oz mug. But for me, I use a 14oz mug and this brewer makes exactly two full mugs of coffee with none to spare. The espresso maker does an awesome job of conserving the espresso sizzling until needed, with out continuously cooking the espresso or burning it. The programming is simple to use, and the overall design is underneathstated enough if you get used to filling the water reservoir. I in an instant ran three brewing cycles of simply water once I opened the field after which made my first batch. There was once no plastic taste or another chemical style to my coffee.

Other reviews have stated their Brew Station leaked, however mine does now not. There is just a little plastic arm that swings out over the coffee floor basket which dispenses the water. I may see that if this arm used to be no longer swung out over the basket, it might leak out the again. Also, the precise shelling out mechanism could be another place for leakage if there are coffee floors or some object caught between the valve and gasket so you should definitely be sure that this area has no espresso floors in it previous to the use of. Again, I have not had this drawback and do not look forward to that I will as I am actually cautious to not get coffee floors within the coffee reservoir and at all times be sure that the arm is over the brewing basket.

Others have talked about that 8-12 cup filters do not fit this maker. The guide does now not state which size filter to make use of either. I actually have found that 4-cup filters are a super match for this maker and in all probability what Hamilton Beach meant. Walmart sells 200 of these filters for round one dollar. If they are no longer on the coffee aisle at Walmart, then test where the coffee makers themselves are offered as Walmart have a tendencys to sell factors in a couple of places inside a store.

Overall, I am very pleased with this maker particularly bearing in mind the cost.

I bought this coffee maker because I received uninterested in making single cups in my Senseo. This is a PERFECT measurement for me...3 full coffee mugs - the dimension I use. LOVE the very truth I can use a "program" brew function.
Maybe I used to be one of many "lucky" ones...but up to now no issues. BUT, simply wish to address one of the crucial prior grievances.

1) "Leaking"....none for me...just at the finish when you flip the lid open to wash out the bottoms, and so forth...simple condensation from the lid...just wipe it up.

2) "Not sizzling"....coffee used to be PRETTY darn scorching....I CAN say, although, as time goes by means of, the 2nd and third cup were "hot", just not SUPER hot as the primary cup...I programmed mine to be ready EXACTLY after I rise up....NOT 30 minutes prior, etc. The strategy of brewing is REALLY quick, so IF you can not get the time that shut, simply have it prepared the nite before....don't use the "auto brew" feature....just flip it on "manually" and it is carried out basically in 4-5 mins.

3) "Weak"....I used one "coffee scoop"...which is basically a deskspoon/cup...strong sufficient...depending on taste...maybe use a "columbian" espresso....the REAL stuff....that'll put hair on your chest!! LOL Or, a French Roast....JMO

4) "Filter dimension"...well, I used what I had available...the greater measurementd ones. I made positive the "water arm" was as soon as positioned correctly to dispense the recent water into the center of the espresso space...no problems. BUT....I can say....

After studying the bad assessments, I was as quickly as slightly leery of buying this coffee maker, but my daughter bought it for me, and I'm extremely joyful. I exactly have found that if I'm cautious pouring the water in and if I pack the 4-cup filter within the basket before adding the espresso, I haven't any downside with leaks. The little arm that sprinkles the water over the grounds moves routinely in place whilst you shut the cover, but I just position it myself to make sure. The programming function has worked nice up to now. The easiest part is that I not have to location the espresso in the microwave after pouring it-it's nice and hot. I think the dispenser is cool, and I love the reality that there is now not a glass espresso pot to play around with. I feel it's very easy to wash-I simply let the pot cool and then soak it for a couple of minutes and wipe it out.
